The first thing that comes to mind about a cabin jetty is a traditional log pole jetty. A solid pier that has sat beautifully in the Finnish lake landscape since long ago, from which it is good to fish, fetch water and go swimming.

The traditional cottage pier is a fixed pier model that is made of strong planks and lasts a long time. The cottage pier must also be suitable for mooring rowing, motor and sailing boats. In this case, for example, rests can be attached to the end of the pier and to the boat, and the boat can be attached to the end part widthwise or with a buoy and rope to float without touching the pier. The rowing boat can also be attached from the bow and stern to the 'armpit' of the cottage pier, i.e. the point between the pathway and the T-section of the end, to float freely from the ropes.

If the shore water is deep, the traditional cottage pier can also be made as a pontoon pier. If in the spring the ice wreaks havoc on the pier at the cottage shore, you should choose either a trestle pier to be removed for the winter or a pontoon pier.
