Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, the saying goes. The eyes of many Finns have been accustomed to the wilderness-inspired appearance of duckboards (Pitkospuut in Finnish) since childhood. Pitkospuu's beautiful piers have often been praised precisely because of the beautiful visual design familiar from forest and swamp trails and paths.
